Open Morning & Book Fair Wednesday 22nd M…

To celebrate Education Week we hosted an Open Morning on Wednesday, 22nd May. We invited our parents, grandparents, special friends and new parents to come along and see our classrooms in action. Our teachers are dedicated to teaching and parents were delighted to observe our students learning, with the help and support of our wonderful teaching staff. Our Student Leadership Team were tremendously helpful in showing visitors around the school and directing them to the correct classrooms they were wishing to see. Along with our Open Morning, we are also hosting a Book Fair in the library for anyone who would like peruse (& purchase) the many books on sale through Scholastic Books. Kindy Time at Bundoora Primary

Our Kindy sessions are designed for kinder-aged children (3 or 4 year olds) to enable them to familiarise themselves with a school-type setting, with a view to raising their confidence in an enjoyable, comfortable way. Each session runs for 45 minutes. Parents are offered refreshments in an adjoining room. Read on to see times and dates for Kindy Science, Kindy Story Time, Kindy Sports and Kindy Music. Outstanding 2012 NAPLAN Results at Bundoora P…

We are delighted with our outstanding NAPLAN (National Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy) results this year. Picnic in the Playground - Wednesday 24th Oct…

Bundoora Primary School is celebrating Chidren's Week by hosting a Picnic in the Playground for all members of our community, not just our school community, to bring a picnic rug and lunch to join us on the oval for an enjoyable time. Kindy Craft at Bundoora Primary

Our free Kindy Craft sessions were a huge success thanks to our very creative Visual Arts teacher, Nikki Rhodes. We designed these sessions for kinder-aged children to enable them to familiarise themselves in a school-type setting, with a view to raising their confidence in an enjoyable, comfortable way. You will see from the photos below how much the children enjoyed these sessions. We have received very positive feedback from parents whose children participated in our Kindy Craft sessions, not only regarding how much their child enjoyed their experience here at Bundoora Primary, but how wonderful our students were as they encouraged and helped their child. 2012 Student Attitudes to School Survey The following information shows Bundoora Primary School’s results for the 2012 Attitudes To School Survey, which is conducted with Year 5 and 6 students in May each year. Our results this year were very pleasing and clearly show the degree of satisfaction that our year 5 and 6 students have in our school programs and culture. These results are particularly pleasing for the staff and student leadership group, as we have been systematic and proactive in our improvement strategies. Read more

Author's visit - Sofie Laguna

Last Wednesday, an Australian Award winning author, Sofie Laguna, visited our school for OPEN DAY, as a part of EDUCATION WEEK. She showed us many of the books that she had written like,‘Too Loud Lily’, ‘Bad Buster’, ‘A Home For Grace’, ‘On Our Way To The Beach’and ‘Stephen’s Music’. Read more

About our school

About Our School Bundoora Primary School is situated in the residential suburb of Bundoora, in the north-east of Melbourne. Our school is surrounded by Gresswell Forest, established areas, the adjacent Bundoora Secondary College campus, Strathallan Golf Course and the new Gresswell Grange Estate. We are close to La Trobe University, RMIT Bundoora and the Metropolitan Ring Road.

The School's enrolment currently stands at 209, with students from a variety of backgrounds, demonstrating the multi cultural aspect of our school. An English as a Second Language (ESL) program operates throughout the school and provides opportunities for students to have further focused instruction in English.

At Bundoora Primary, each child's individuality is recognised and celebrated. Our school boasts a nurturing, community environment where all families can feel that they are a part of something special.

Cyber Safety

The Australian Government's Cybersafety Help Button provides internet users, particularly children and young people, with easy online access to cybersafety information and assistance available in Australia. It offers counselling, reporting and educational resources to assist young people deal with online risks including cyberbullying, unwanted contact, scams and fraud, and offensive or inappropriate material.

The help button is a free application that is easily downloaded onto personal computers, mobile devices, and school and library networks. Click on the image below to see where the button takes you.
